Ali's presence also was felt on TV screens. Ali was featured in a variety of TV shows, including A Man Called Hawk and Wally and the Valentines, The Cosby Show and Getting By, Are You Afraid Of the Dark?, Kidz In the Wood and Living Single. Ali's most memorable project came when she introduced Ashley Banks to life on the cult TV show, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air in 1990. The series, which featured Will Smith as the star had a tremendous success. The show was an enormous hit and ranked 12th on NBC's list of the most watched programs from 1990-1992. The show went on to receive two popular Golden Globe nominations.
